Hey. After installing my first SSD on my PC, I started getting BSOD'S - critical process died etc, only with my SSD. When on my old HDD, 0 errors. Tested memory, all good. Ran SSD scans - all good too.

So it seems that my old mobo witth crappy marvell 91xx doesn't support my SSD Samsung 850 EVO 250GB...

I would like to know, which SSD to get so it can work without any problems ?

Thank you.

P.S. The performance boost from hdd to ssd was incredible!

My rig - board: Intel DX58OG

CPU- I7 920

SSD: Samsung 850 evo 250gb

Solution
Use any of the 6 black sata ports, Yes they are sata2 (3gb/s) but will work much better then the Marvel ports.
The 850 Evo should not have a problem switching to sata2 mode either.

There are none worth buying. This is largely due to the how the Marvell chip was integrated into the motherbd. If I remember right, It has 1 pcie lane to use which it divides bandwidth between both sata3 ports. Just use the Evo on the Intel ports if you can. Move optical drives to the Marvell is what I do, but they do run HDD's just fine.
