Is my GTX 1080 fine? (FPS Dipping)

Hi I just bought a Galax GTX 1080 HOF today and I'm just wondering why I'm experiencing split second stuttering or microstuttering I guess? I tried to benchmark it with R6 Siege(Ultra with ambient occlusion and reflection on low and disabled) and Unigine Heaven(all max at 1920 x 1080). In Unigine, I notice that it usually drops to 9-16 frames at the beginning of certain scenes.

Is this normal? I made a clean uninstall of the old gpu drivers and installed it with the latest driver 385.28. I ran the Unigine Heaven on the SSD, while R6 Siege on the 2tb drive.

Current Specs:
i5 7600k
Galax GTX 1080 Hall of Fame
Hyper x Fury 2x8gb ram 2400mhz
Gigabyte Z270x-Designare
120gb Samsung 840 Evo
Seasonic M12ii 620w
1tb Western Digital Blue
2tb Seagate Barracuda

More about gtx 1080 fine fps dipping
  1. Is it happening a lot, or rarely?

run msi afterburner, check your CPU & GPU usage during the frame drops and stuttering and report back the figures here

also, what model monitor are you using and what display connection type are you using?

I'm currently using a BenQ XL2411 144hz monitor, actually I tried exiting all the background programs and I think it kinda fixed it? I'll update you if found the culprit or if it suddenly happens again. :)
