Game: PUBG
GPU: SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON HD 7870 Flex
CPU: i5 3550 @ 4.0 GHz
CPU cooler: Hyper 212 LED
Ventilators: one at the front

After some time in PUBG(~5 min) GPU goes up to 95 degrees and then if I press any combination of buttons game crashes (e.g. i switch weap., put a sight on weap., enter vehicle...).

CPU was also overheating @ 3.3 GHz (~95 degrees) without hyper 212, with hyper 212 @4.0 GHz (~70 degrees) so that's fine.

I tried: Stock CPU cooler, underclocking GPU, opening side of the case, reapplying thermal paste on GPU.

Not sure if buying ventilators for back, bottom and top of the case will have a huge benefit.
ANY HELP WELCOME!

-------------------------------------------

SOLUTION!

Put my useless stock fan from i5 to the side of the case as intake, now it runs max. 85 degrees. No crashes.
I will try other configurations and maybe buy a couple more fans so I can overclock.

Thanks photonboy and scout_03.

Solution
you have only a intake fan in case and nothing to push hot air out you need to get back fan and top if you could to get a good air flow in this case and reduce internal temp, what is thename and model of that case .

Very low, no motion blur. Playing Fullscreen windowed, so 1920x1080.

Load temperature there is 63degC, so even if your room temperature is a bit hotter getting 90degC (if accurate) only makes sense if there's some issue with the graphics card fans.

Case fans shouldn't make enough difference to matter. Something's clearly wrong.

*Did you overclock the HD7870? If so, put it back to default settings.

Otherwise not sure what to say except perhaps get a new card. (i.e. GTX1060 6GB or better. Was going to recommend a GTX1050Ti but it's only about 50% better).

Other:
1) experiment with the card FAN PROFILE, and
2) rig up a temporary 12cm case fan to blow air over the SIDE of the card (as if it was a side case fan), as close to the fan as possible with the case side OFF to see how much temps go down.

I have put my useless intel i5 8mm fan to the side ot the case as intake and now I get max. 85 degrees which isn't too bad.
I will look into putting couple more fans on the case.
