Last week I assembled a computer. And today noticed that GPU-z shows that pcie x16 is running at x2 speed. When loading, the speed does not change. I already tried to pull out and insert the video card, looked at the BIOS settings and reset the BIOS. I tried to insert the video card into the second pcie slot and the speed became 8x. How do I understand this is the problem in the motherboard and I can not do anything except try the RMA motherboard?

Knowing that most cpus, with exception of a couple very high end ones, only have 16 PCI lanes, this isn't a motherboard issue, but a result of how you "built" your rig.

This means that when using one device you will be able to use all lanes for that one pci device, so 16x. When using two pci devices, your motherboard divides it into two equal parts, so 2 times 8x.

The number also changes depending which pci slot you use on your motherboard. Using the first one, if you use only one pci device, will trigger 16x. Using the second will trigger 8x, even when using only one pci device.

If you want to be able to enjoy the 16x pci configuration you'll have to connect the m.2 ssd to a motherboard slot instead of using a pci converter, if your board contains one that is. Otherwise you'll have to live with it.

axel_dbtechnix,
no, the problem was in the motherboard. I returned it to the store and took Asus Prime Z270-A. Now with the same configuration and devices in those slots, the GPU operates at a speed of x16.
