So I was having a sudden issue with Overwatch crashing on me saying my display rendering was lost or something like that. Did a search and found some solutions but alas they didn't work for me. Then I thought hey maybe my videocard has issues and luckily I had a spare GTX 1080 laying around (too lazy to swap out the 1070 in my other comp). This is when I noticed something very strange. I touched my case and boom static shock. And again and again. It was like my case was electrified. I stopped and looked and saw sparks.
The sparks were by the back of the case in between where the edge of the top panel mesh meets the case. I soon powered off my computer and let it sit and haven't turned it on since. I am wondering what the issue can be. I have a 3 prong power cable and it is grounded. The power supply is my main suspect as that's the only component that is over a year old, it's a 1020W Enermax I purchased in 2011. All the other parts are within a year: i7-6850K, G.Skill 64GB (4x16gb) 3200 sticks, Plextor 1tb nvme, GTX 1080 FE, MSI x99 Carbon Godlike.
Any ideas?
