My first post here, so I am setting up several mining rigs and for some reason, this rig is acting up compared to others. The other rigs have all AMD GPUs and work perfectly but for some reason this rig has GTX 1060s and produces the b2 led code on the motherboard. It does not boot up unless I unplug the GPU and then itll boot up normally. My specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 5
CPU Intel Celeron Skylake G3900
RAM: HyperX Fury 4GB 2133MHz
GPU: MSI GTX 1060 OC edition
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 1300W Plat
SSD: Sandisk SSD 120GB

Heres the process I went through after connecting all the parts together for this rig.
1) Install Windows 10 Home Edition through USB.
2) Download Gigabyte App Center and mass download and install all drivers altogether. Restart PC.
3) Install ZoneAlarm Firewall and Avast, power down computer.
4) Connect 1 - GTX 1060, boot successfully. Download and install MSI Live Update and MSI GPU driver. Restart with the 1 GTX 1060 GPU.
5) B2 error code shows up on motherboard.

Will see if I am updated to the latest bios.
I have tried redoing the whole process 2 more times and have the same result. Any help that I receive will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Solution

Just want to give everyone an update. I order new set of risers and replaced the old one, plugged them in and worked without a hitch whatsoever. Hopefully any other people who have this problem will save time by checking that out. Thanks for everyone's advice!

I have updated updated to the latest bios and able to boot but until past the splash screen and it freezes on a black loading screen.

Remove video card
Connect display to motherboard HDMI port with High Speed HDMI cable to use processor graphics.
Boot up.
MSI GPU driver - Uninstall
MSI Live Update - Uninstall (Don't use on Gigabyte Motherboard)
Go to NVidia to get the latest driver.
Reinstall video card and new driver.

So I got it to boot up by disconnecting the GPU from the PCIEX16 port and connect it a x1 port. Now I am at the login screen but froze, as if the PC is overloaded and slow.

Yes, I had my suspicions on the risers because they were in a different packaging compared to the rest of the risers. Must be a knockoff version...

When you say "risers" are you talking about the motherboard spacers that keep it separated from the metal housing?
or something else?
