hello

what is the purpose of a network switch? would it increase my wifi speed? would it extend my wifi if it has that ability? would it allow users to connect to my wifi with out any issues and interference? the reason why i ask is because i'm planning on getting one because some users are having issues connecting to my wifi

You don't need a repeater, you need another access point, which can be done with a cheap router connected to the main router with an Ethernet cable and disabling DHCP on the AP "router."

A wireless repeater would actually make things worse.

As stated above. You probably need to add an access point for an additional radio on a different channel to handle more connections.

To get a real answer, you need to provide more information like your current router model, size and shape of the coverage area, private home on lots of land or a dorm/apartment, how many users and what will they be doing (checking net/email or streaming HD Netflix), your total bandwidth on your ISP plan, and the like.

no i don't. I'll just get a wireless repeater that seems to be the best option for me or get another router and bridge the connection.
