hello

is there a way to "lock" a usb to prevent a user from copying, deleting or changing files on it? i know some usbs have a little switch on the side but i want to "lock" usbs even if they don't have that physical switch. if there is a way to "lock" the usb would it prevent the files from being executable? if so is there a way around that if it does prevent the files from being executable?

Prevent from copy or execute?
No.

If you don't want someone to read it (copy or execute), do not give it to them.

The switch, if it exists on that USB, prevents write/delete actions.
If there were a way to prevent "copy", that would make it actually useless.

Or, you could encrypt it with a password. No reading without the password...

They could always just wipe it, though.

What are you actually trying to prevent?
