Hello i recently got given a Dell Optiplex 755 To play with. I have a few cameras around the house I'm putting up but no DVR. I was wondering if this Dell could record it to a 2nd HDD Replacing the optical drive. These cameras are AV Composite so by no means HD 1080P. Just nightvision cameras. I know these Dells are cooled well and parts are cheap if it goes wrong. I have the recording stuff sorted but not the Hard drive. I don't mind it being second hand and i don't mind the disk space as i would be able to change it and delete videos every few weeks or days.

It's not on my desk and it's out of the way and it will be remotely controlled.

Thanks!

Generally, a 24/7 camera recording install thing would be a WD Purple or the Seagate equivalent.

That is what they are made for.
