Hello everyone, i just recently upgraded my graphics card from a Radeon RX 480 to an MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X and while i saw a tremendous amount of difference in my gaming experience i seem to notice a small fps decrease every time i walk into some new territory (happens at various games not just one) can this be the cause of my hard disk?

My hard disk is Western Digital Black WD1001FALS i have this for almost 8 years now and i have a hunch this might be the cause, i am correct?

Also other specs are:
Ryzen 5 1600,
2 X 8Gb 2400 DRR4 Module G skill Flare X
Asus Crosshair VI
Corsair Silent Pro 850 watts
O.S. Windows 10

Anyone might know this or even experienced it before?

Hard drive doesn't interfere with in game performance. Only loading times.

And what game are you playing?

i am simply talking about games with huge open world or RPG in general some might say such as Witcher 3,Nier Automata, GTA V, Rise of the tomb raider, mass effect andromeda
Again just to make sure i am talking about an 1 second at max fps drop at certain ''Points'' of a game that the enviroment may change or the territory in general , are you sure that this might might be something else other than a hard disk?

Try to set the game settings to medium.
