All of the sudden in both CS:GO and PUBG I got a drastic decrease in FPS. I notice that in my task manager my CPU usage is never above 30%. To try and remedy the situation I set the priority of the application to high and the usage bumps to 60% and I get normal FPS but that doesn't last long. I reset my bios and every core is being used properly. It seems as though there is a cop or my CPU is being throttled back and im not sure how to free it up and let the games use more CPU power.

PC Specs:
AMD FX 8350 Black
EVGA GTX 1060
16 GB DDR3 Ballistix RAM
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
1TB HDD
250GB SSD

Install hwinfo and set it up to show coreclock usage with msi afterburner. See if you're throttling somehow.

Also, have you changed any settings in the bios? Specifically those that are linked to voltage control? How are your temps at idle and load?

All 8 cores are at an average usage of about 60 but my overall CPU usage tends to be at about 20% I do not believe I have changed any BIOS settings related to that.

Sorry for the late reply. I meant the actual clock usage in GHz, not the percentage. Download the program I mentioned and set it so you can actually see the core clock in-game. Alternatively, I believe task manager will also do (useful if you have a 2nd screen).

I turned AMD k8 cool and quiet off and in my task manager I was getting 1.04ghz of CPU usage idle or in game and after turning it off it went up to the regular 4.0ghz
