Ubuntu Installer unable to find SDD, and my BIOS doesn't have a SATA/AHCI option.

Hello everybody,

Recently I have begun a trek to install a dual booting system of Windows 10 and Ubuntu 17 on my new Lenovo Flex 5, a process I've done before on other laptops. I made a partition on my SSD, burned the ISO to a USB stick, and launched it from my boot menu.

When I launched the ISO, it booted, started up and got through the install configuration until it checked for HDD space, when it gave me an error saying the system didn't have enough storage space. I ran "fdisk -l" and this was indeed true, the only disk available being the very USB flashdrive the OS was operating on.

After reading some online articles, I learned that I needed to switch out of RAID/IDE mode and into SATA mode, but I sifted through my BIOS and found nothing of the sort, and upon further research found I am not the only one to come to this conclusion with recent Lenovo BIOS software.

Is it still possible for me to install both Operating Systems in a dual boot fashion? I've never had this problem and am at a loss for ideas. Any help is appreciated.

Solution
It's always a best option to boot all your OS in the same mode.
