Any GPU Stress Test Software Stops Working

I can overclock my GPU a little but past a certain point, when I launch a stress test, the programs stops responding and comes up with the windows' "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly" window.

This happens within 30 seconds, usually within the first couple of seconds.
All drivers up-to-date.

MSI 1050 Ti Gaming X 4G
AMD FX-6300
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 4.1)

Your GPU is crashing, does not like your OC. You need to go back to where it's happy

Well that is what happens when you overclock too far, it does not have an unlimited overclocking range. What is the core clock getting up to when it crashes?

Thank you both, I expected everything to freeze or shutdown and I have never heared of this happening.

No problem. Usually pushing clocks too far on a GPU will only crash the application or game that is causing the GPU load, I have also seen crashes with directx errors instead of the general error you got.

An unstable CPU or RAM overclock is usually when you see things like system lock up or a watchdog timeout blue screen. A system shutdown usually only occurs if the CPU or GPU is dangerously overheating, or you have a bad power supply.
