Hello,

I want to use a cloud service that I can back up files on and keep there even though they're not on my computer. The reason for this is that my Mac only has 128g of space and I will be editing videos as I travel which will be large files.

I will back up my files on a local external hard drive, and then back up these files on the cloud.

As far as I'm aware from research, most cloud providers delete files that are not on your computer system after around 30days, there for it cannot be used as an external storage system, only a mirror image backup.

After some research I have come across iDrive and Crashplan. These cloud services apparently give the option to keep files even though they are not on the computer system, or you can backup the local external hard drive directly, and keep them for an unlimited time, there for acting as a external hardrive and saving space in my computer.

I am not interested in mirror storage I only want services that can act as a 'cloud external hard drive' to save space on my computers SSD.

Has anyone had any experience with these services or can anyone recommend any others? Also, if I'm wrong please correct me.

Thank you.
