Playing Asseto Corsa when I am given a screen very similar to this http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=db0da790-f240-4615-8121-25ac1192da7b.
Rebooted my system when I could not Alt Tab or Ctrl Shift Del. No Display after restart. I then started troubleshooting.
-
* All Fans are spinning in the system like normal.
* Tested both sticks of RAM in both slots - RAM is fine.
* Uninstalled GPU Driver. Still no Display.
* Took out GPU, replaced with older GPU (Radeon HD 4000) to change to Integrated Graphics (IG). Computer works fine on IG.
* Put newer GPU back in, booted up and after logging in (still using IG), the screen freezes, which means I need to restart. However I was able to get Device manager up in time which showed me the GPU was still being recognised in the system.
* Put GPU in older computer, no display. Old computer also runs fine on IG.

What I do not understand is if my GPU shorted or overheated to the point of producing no display, then why does it show in Device Manager?

The motherboard only has one PCIE slot, the other 2 being PCI x4 I believe.
However, I spoke to Amazon support and they gave me a full refund and a free shipping label to send it back, even after a year of use.
