I'm looking at the Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 550W PSU for 159$ CAD on newegg.ca

I want it because 10db at 100% fan speed.(also because it's the only available also other have been out of stock for 3 weeks)

I have i7 5820K no oc
Zotac Amp gtx 1080 power set at 80% no OC
2x crucial mx300 525GB
1x Caviar Blue HDD 1TB
4x Noctua Fans
MSI X99 SLI PLUS MOBO

So is it enough to run it ? I do recordings with condenser xlr mic and gameplay so I need a really quiet pc. My psu is thr loudest thing and can be heard in my recordings (old thermaltake bronze 80 750W psu)

Solution

A GTX 1080 doesn't require a 600 watt PSU. Nvidia recommends having a 500 watt PSU, but the card itself only has a 180 watt TDP, and even an overclocked model shouldn't need much more than 200 watts while gaming. All the system's components added together probably won't be drawing much more than around 400 watts from the PSU under load, so a high quality 550 watt model would likely have no problem running such a system.

Yes, 550W is recommended, especially with that rig.
