Msi 970 palit gtx 1050 turns on but screen does not detect a signal

Ok so limeted funds so... upgraded my mobo from an intel dq57 or sunmet to an msi 970 and my cpu from an i5 650 to an amd fx8350 but just swapped over my gpu whixh is a palit gtx 1050 2gb... swapped everything over and tried booting it up for first time... blank screen no signal but pc is booting up, now my mate seems to think its because my gpu doesnt have an external power supply plug. Even though the fans run on the gpu is this the case? Something to do with getting power through pci slot?

Hope this makes sense.. my next option is new gpu equivalant that has 6pin connector and new psu tgat has 6+2 pin as my current psu has 4pin :/

the i7 870 easily beats or matches the 8350 at gaming, the fx line are really that obsolete


again a new psu with a new gpu will do nothing, that is not the problem but please go ahead and then come back and ask again why it did nothing after wasting the money

you completely re installed windows?



also that was a waste of money, should have simply dropped in a i7 870 on your old setup



if the card doesnt need a 6-pin it doesnt need a 6-pin.

you are going on a fools errand on that your mate is wrong



if you can swap back to your old setup, sell/return the fx crap and buy a i7 870


save the rest of the money for a complete setup rebuild down the line

Then how am i suppose to install windows if im getting no boot up screen?

And just looked into the i7 870 and for the money wouldnt really be making the gains for gaming i would with the fx looking at benchmark website. Im stuck for what i can get on intel as the socket limits me as ypu probs already know so hence why i thought intel mobo and chip would be a viable option.

I guess i need new psu wjth 6+2 pci-e, new msi gtx 1050 and then windows op system?

XD swap your old stuff back in, sell the fx stuff
