Hello,

I am building a gaming pc for a friend. He wants to get the most out of $2000. Here is the build I put together. Was hoping to get some feedback on the build before having him order the parts. Thanks in advance!

On Monday Intel are doing an announcement on the new Coffee Lake CPU's, so wait and see what they see. From this leak the 8700k could be a big step forward for multithreaded activities http://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-coffee-lake-eighth-generation-cpu,35259.html

As for your build you should use a better cooler, the 7700k runs hot and that's an entry level cooler.

why a z170 board?

that probably wont run a 7700k with out a bios update

4ghz ram?

probably going to struggle to reach 4000mhz---3200mhz is plenty unless 4000mhz is same price

a g1 psu--get a g2

should be a z270 board

which one is up to you really --if looking for a certain colour themed build then obviously only certain boards would do

i have the asus z270-e and cant fault it

and as said by sizzling

the evo is a lower level/budget cooler--though probably one of the best budget cooler there is to be fair

but hes right the 7700k does run hot

especially if you aim to overclock it too

havent air cooled in years so not my area--but something from cryorig or bit more expensive noctua is likely a better bet
