I am building my first PC. I have a Pentium G4560 processor and a Gigabyte motherboard. Both are LGA1151 but the processor will not fit in the motherboard's socket. The triangles are aligned, but only one side will slide in.

on the opposite edge of the processor there are two notches that line up to 2 little tabs in the socket. Make sure you are lining them up it should then drop right in.
