Fans going really loud when playing CS:GO

Hi there, when I start playing CS:GO for around 2 minutes my PC fans start going really loud and then the monitor shuts off and I have to do a hard restart. Anyone know what the problem might be? This is a fairly good computer and runs all other games perfectly and I don't have this issue on any other game.

EDIT: oops one thing I forgot to mention is that I have played this game in the past and I have had no problems. Thanks for the answers.

I'd start with specifics, such as what your pc consists of. Some ppls definition of exactly what constitutes a 'fairly decent' computer are considerably different than others. Cpu, cooler, gpu are pretty essential.

Cs:go can be a little demanding on the cpu, it's an intensive single thread game. Compared to other games you run, they might be using several cores at the same time, so the workload is divided up. If you don't have good cooling, and with a mediocre cpu, it's probable you are driving one core to excessively high heat, and the pc fans respond to that heat accordingly. Looking at a single cpu temp can be misleading as it'll report average temps from across all 4 cores etc.

Best bet is use Realtemp if you have Intel, or Msi...

Best bet is use Realtemp if you have Intel, or Msi Afterburner if using older Amd. Look at the temps of all the cores simultaneously, see if one core is going crazy high. (Afterburner works with thermal limits, so the closer to 0 you get, the hotter the cpu is running)
