Hello.

Just thinking of upgrading my old system, just a small upgrade on the video as I don't have a budget to change it all, so I want to find out what is the best graphic card that could go with my system :

Dell Inspiron 545
Q8200
4 GB : 4x1GB @ 800 MHZ DDR2
500GB HDD + 250 GB SSD.

I would have bought another motherboard that takes DDR3, but not sure if there are any LGA 775' s out there.

Solution
Total PSU wattage means very little. The +12V rail's capacity is what will determine the size gfx card you can use with that system. But since a GTX 1050 Ti runs fine on even my tiny 240W Dell Optiplex 790 SFF PC, it would have to be a pretty crappy 500W PSU for it not to handle that card. So yes, you are safe to use the GTX 1050 Ti. And yes, the card should work with that system.

It's a standard 500W PSU.
Yes, it will be a gaming use, with future upgrades to other components in the future.
So, even if it will be bottlenecked by other components, I just wanted to know if it works, for example a GTX 1050ti ?.
I am willing to spend £200 now on a video card, and in a few months few more hundred to change everything to an LGA 1151 + new PSU.

Thanks

Many thanks @clutchc
My PSU apparently doesn't have a PCIE connection, 6+2 pins, so I have to buy another one.
All I can see from pictures and specs, is that 1050Ti, has a 6x2 pin(12 pins total) connection, will the normal 8 pin (6+2) connection power it up?

Many thanks

Most GTX 1050 Ti need no 6 pin connection. Which one are you looking at?
