First I'll give you my laptop specs:
Lenovo z585:
CPU: AMD A4600m
RAM: 16gb
Hard Drive: 750 GB Seagate Momentus XT (Hybrd Drive)
I already removed the bios whitelist for this laptop for the mini PCI-E slot to install a better wifi card a while back (Intel 7260 802.11ac)
That said I know other hardware will work in that slot.
I am thinking of the possibility of rigging this custom egpu setup on my laptop:
"http://www.ebay.com/itm/V8-0-EXP-GDC-Laptop-External-Independent-Video-Card-Dock-Mini-PCI-E-For-Beast/291819960576?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649"
The GPU I have available is an AMD R9 Fury X. I know I'll need an external power supply for it. It will be running though in x1 or x2 instead of x16. How much performance would I sacrifice on this card? Is it even worth it? If not are there better alternatives besides buying a new computer?
