why not do a sound quality test for a video card ?

I think of the HDMI sound from a videocard as a convenience, not a feature. It allows the user to send video and sound over one cable, and it allows for HDCP compliance. As such, it's just a basic sound output, there's nothing really worth measuring there. It's not like one GTX 1060 is going to have much better HDMI audio than another 1060.

The first link you give is comparing motherboards. That's a different situation, since those onboard audio solutions can feature a lot of audio processing options. There can be very noticeable differences in audio between various motherboards.

If you've never done a sound quality test for a video card
How do you know the sound quality that goes through?
Who said quality components?

The Truth Behind High-Res Audio

A lot of the hardware does not transfer 24 / 96KHZ
Notice that there are 2 logos for hardware and sound on disk

Receivers who cost $ 2000/3000 do not make High-Res Audio
So a video card that comes up does transfer?
Who checked?

Where does the High-Res Audio logo to hardware ?
