Time to upgrade my system again!

Put a quick list together today and looking for any critique :)

I have Cooler Master HAF X and Thermaltake Core X9 cases, although I'd like to switch to something trendier looking lol, but technically could keep using either one of them and save a bit on the build. Open to other case suggestions, but I do like the glass look and would need it to work well with air cooling.

As far as target performance, it would be mostly gaming. Likely 75% MMO, 15% shooters like Destiny 2 or Overwatch (if I ever play that again...), 10% random RPG/shooter single player games. Currently I use 2 1440p 60Hz monitors, but will likely be upgrading to some higher refresh ones in the near future. LIkely will choose https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG35VQ/ but https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG27UQ/ is still in the running, although I'm not sure if I would like going down in size from current 32" monitors.

Those 960 evos are nice, but have a horrible price per GB. In gaming, you are not going to see any real difference in performance, vs a sata based SSD. As you are running a higher resolution already, Ryzen 7 is a consideration as well.

Yeah motherboard is not necessary really, I'm sure any of Prime ones would work just as well, but you know... it has pretty lights =.=

As far as waiting for GPU, too late on that now :) As I've noted earlier I already own 1080ti, so will ride it for a while. CPU wise I have 4790k currently, so really not a big jump going to 7700k, but it's been tooooo long since last build :)

From what I can see, CPUs you've mentioned do not seem to have any particular release dates yet, so while I could wait a month or two, I'd like to get this done no later than that. New tech is always on the way hehe, so I'd just get stuck forever waiting.

Thanks for the case link, I did see it today during search for glass cases, but I think there was something more negative in the review than the one I chose and it does seem to be potentially smaller. Although I haven't actually looked that up yet. Thermaltake (I believe) has a number of glass cases, but they all seem to be aimed mostly for water cooling, having very few fan outlets.

I more likely will get 1440p ultrawide. While 4k would be nice, I'd like it to be 32" panel not 27.

Also the more I look the less I'm sure about ram cpu cooler combo working out. Would like the extra glow from ram, but not if it doesn't fit or mostly covered by the cooler. Also I'm thinking about switching to be quiet dark rock pro 3 cooler instead. Would look nicer i think.

A cryorig r1 with the soon to be released 8700k on a z370 is what u would want.
If you want an awesome case, look at the NZXT rog Noctis.
And yes, 16gigs of 3200 rams would be enough.
For the display, I think the acer predator x34 ultawide is an absolute beauty. And a single 1080ti is enough to power it now.

If you don't ever plan on SLI then maybe this 'small' upgrade might be good:

Thanks guys. Already bought the system. Mostly what I listed, but switchef to low profile ram from corsair.

One note about the case, with front door closed even with third fan added to front panel this case runs low pressure, i.e. front fans just moving air inside the case as opposed to sucking much of new air. Tested it with some incense stick smoke =) This affects temps by about 3-5c opposed to door being open. Case is the high pressure.
