I have a working horse comp (DTP - Lightroom, Photoshop, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Archicad) and maybe it is time for upgrading my machine. I am not a tech expert, but I'd like to hear some suggestions from you, experts. Should I upgrade and what to upgrade, I think some components are still quite good, maybe just to overclock the processor (I read that i920 is going almost to 4 GHz without any special hardware), or upgrade my mobo, prc, RAM... Consider my budget is cca 400 USD. Please suggest and thank you!

My hardware is:
Mobo: GIGABYTE EX58-UD4
CPU: Intel Core i7-920 (Bloomfield, D0), 2666 MHz (20.00x133.3) @ 2797 MHz (21.00x133.2)
Memory: 12288 MBytes @ 532 MHz, 6.0-6-6-18, 3 x 4096 MB PC14900 DDR3 SDRAM - Crucial Technology BLS4G3D18ADS3.16FE
Graphics: ASUS Strix GTX960 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, 2048 MB GDDR5 SDRAM
HDD - SSD: Crucial_CT256MX100SSD1, 250.1 GB, Serial ATA 6Gb/s @ 3Gb/s

Solution
If your software can use lots of cores, think about a Ryzen system, bang for buck, will be better than an Intel 4-core.

No with that budget you can't upgrade your cpu. If you want to upgrade the cpu I recommend an i7 7700 with a new mobo and ram(cuz the architecture changed so your ram and mobo won't be compatible). But considering you have that i7, the actual gen i5s are much better so take 8,gb ram any frequency, any mobo with socket 1151 and chipset 200 and an i5 7600.
