M.2 Pcie 3.0x4

I'm trying to install my OS on a NVMe 256GB M.2 ssd. I can see the drive on the bios but it don't appear as an option during the windows installation procedure. I'm using a x4 PCIe to M.2 PCIe ssd adapter on a pcie x 16 slot. What am I doing wrong ?

Most systems can't boot from that configuration.

But it would be nice if you could list what kind of hardware you got, that way we might be able to give a more definitely answer

Yea.. I dont think that motherboard can boot from an PCIe NVMe adapter.

I'm in the procces of building a new rig with an Asus B350 Plus @ the core. It has an M.2 socket build in. I'm in a budget so will see how it goes. :bounce:
