Hello,

I have an Alienware 15 R3. I recently wanted to reformat my entire PC. To my surprise
the SSD wasn't detected by my windows installation media , I checked using diskpart as well.

I ended up changing bios settings and switched off secure boot still didn't work.
Then I changed to Legacy and then it finally detected the SSD.

But then I got curious I switched from the default RAID to AHCI and then it detected my
SSD even in UEFI mode.

So my question is why doesn't my SSD get detected in RAID and UEFI mode.

Anyone got any idea whatsoever then please do share.

Solution
It's because of AHCI mode, unless you really use RAID for disks it's better for SSD to use AHCI. RAID also needs drivers, sometimes even before you install OS.
