I was wondering if it was possible to use an IBM server with four CPUS in it as an attachment to my desktop, I was hoping that with this it would take most of the work off of my main desktop. Any advice would be great, thank you

What do you mean by attachment?

If you mean to somehow link it to your current system to be able to have basically 5 CPUs handling your workload, no, it doesn't work like that and cannot.

All its good for for you is to use as a file server, for extra networked space. Honestly a waste of electricity, a networked hard drive can do that.
