I have a weird issue with my GPU where if I overclock and say run the Unigine valley benchmark or any game like fallout 4 the experience seems to go relatively smooth with zero artifacts and problems. However, as soon I go back to my desktop after exiting any benchmark or game for that matter I proceed to get the artifacts where my screen has strips of lines going about.
Once again, I run a GPU intensive benchmark and I see absolutely zero artifacts. I also noticed that even a single MHz overclock in either memory or core clock will start giving me artifacts when not in load. I also tried bumping up the power limit but that didn't do anything.
I'm using MSI afterburner, XFX TS 750W, R5 1600x, 8gb ddr4, and my gpu is an XFX r9 280 which seems to have a locked voltage. Thus, I can't measure or change the voltage, which maybe could be culprit? I guess the solution for now would be to run an overclock profile for games and a reset profile when not gaming but I was wondering if anyone know another solution.
