Do cmos batteries drain their power all the time , or only when the PC is not connected to a power source. I am shit scared that after 5 years i will have to change it

If the CMOS battery fails, you lose your bios settings and the mobo reverts back to factory bios settings. So, go thru your bios settings now and note any settings that you made. If the CMOS battery fails, just replace it and manually reset your bios setting. No big deal.
