Hi Toms hardware forum. I have a GA78LMTUSB3 6.0 MOBO and a GTX 750 TI, AMD fx 6300, 8gbs of Ram DDR3. In my CPU's bios settings there is an option for IGX Configuration, and UMA Frame Buffer Size. Here is the excerpt from my manual on the subject of IGX Configuration.
Internal Graphics Mode
Allows you to determine whether to allocate system memory for the onboard graphics controller.
Disabled Disables the onboard graphics controller.
UMA Allocates memory for the onboard graphics controller from the system memory. (Default)
& UMA Frame Buffer Size
Frame buffer size is the total amount of system memory allocated solely for the onboard graphics controller.
MS-DOS, for example, will use only this memory for display. Options are: Auto (default), 128MB, 256MB,
512MB, 1024MB.
For Internal Graphics mode my CPU doesn't come with integrated graphics, yet by default this setting is enabled. Should I have it disabled or enabled for best performance on my PC? UMA frame buffer size is the second part of IGX Config and if Internal graphics mode is enabled you can select an amount of RAM to be allocated for the on-board graphics controller or integrated GPU. My question is since I do not have an integrated GPU will the 128/256/512/1024 of memory in this setting be allocated to my dedicated GPU and increase its performance, or am I just wasting whatever amount of Ram on a setting that does nothing for my PC since I don't have an integrated GPU? I don't ask questions online often, because most have been asked by other people but I couldn't find an answer to this particular question online no matter where I looked. Maybe its a no-brainer.
