So recently my 970 stopped working while i was playing assuming it blew or something. So i put my 960 in which isnt that bad to play gta and rainbow six siege on med settings. The issue is im wondering if it messed up the socket or if its my power supply. Im getting a new 970 tomorrow so im gonna see if the issue is still happening. While im playing ill be at like 70% usage then go to 97 which im fine with still get about 120 fps on the games then it will hit 100% and then the frames will be 15-23 regardless where im at. Just dont know whats going on any help would be appreciated.

you might have miner malware

run a full sweep with a good malware scanner

also make sure your cpu is not thermal throttling, use a program like msi afterburner to keep track of temps while you play

ran kaspersky full scan says its all good, the main thing im worried about is it didnt happen until after my 970 blew, my cpu just got a new fan put on now my temps stay under 50.

under 50?

that is troubling unless you have a top of the line cpu cooler

are you monitoring cpu speeds? are you stuck at low mhz? is it ramping up to full speeds in games?

so far since i got my new fan the highest ive seen it go is maybe 51-57 while gaming but i have not played anything really intense since my 970 broke and been waiting on the replacement . My new fan is Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, before it would go up to 80 in temps before i replaced the stock fan, but now its a steady 50ish. My cpu clocks are 3799-3999 ofc changing but from what ive seen its fine, Its an i7-4790. My computer has quite abit of fans in it in general so wasnt worried about the cpu after i changed the fan
