I have Asus ROG GL552VX laptop. I bought Samsung 250GB PCIE 960 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD from ebay. (http://www.ebay.in/itm/Samsung-250GB-PCIE-960-EVO-NVMe-M-2-SSD-FLAT-10-OFF-CODE-FLAT10OFFF/232414636865?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649)

It properly fits into the M.2 SSD M-Key slot but not recognized by my system or even by my BIOS. What am I doing wrong ? I have the latest bios.

M.2 is just a format, and the implementation is what matters. M.2 can be both SATA and PCIe. *Most* can support both, but some you'll find are restricted to one or the other.

While your laptop appears to accept PCIe drives:

There are alot of the same questions posted in this (and other) forum(s).

I would look through the BIOS for something named "M.2 Configuration" (or similar) and, if it's anything other than "PCIe x4" (ie "Auto" or "SATA") then set it to PCIe.

Ensure you're running the latest BIOS update too - just incase.

Unfortunately, alot of people appear to be having the same issue.

I searched my BIOS for any settings stating "PCIe" but unable to find one. My BIOS have very limited features. My BIOS Vendor is American Megatrends with Bios Version 300. I also went to the ASUS website and found that I already have the latest BIOS in my Laptop. Still my SSD is not detected.

I would reach out to ASUS support here and ensure the SSD you have is compatible. NVMe drives should be, as per the spec.
I don't see what the issue could be, but the internet is flooded with people having the same issue - hopefully ASUS can quickly tell you how to rectify.
I can't image it's the first time they will have been asked...

I did tried to contact ASUS here but it seems guys sitting overhere are really dump. It took me more than 15 minutes to get them understand what an M.2 SSD is, and at the end they suggested me to go to the service center. Hope your service desk do a better job.

Did you get any response from ASUS ? Also as I have been researching I came to find out that my laptop have very limited BIOS settings. For example I can not overclock my CPU or RAM.

I haven't contacted ASUS?

As for not being able to overclock your CPU or RAM, that's typical of a laptop. BIOS' in laptops are generally pretty limited, but should still be able to configure the aspects that can be attached (PCIe, SATA etc)
