Hey guys,
So, as you might guess, I have the Asus Z170-AR motherboard. At work Thunderbolt 3 has been coming around on the new iMacs and Macbooks. After looking into it, the speeds are really impressive. Then when I checked, turns out my board has a Thunderbolt header.
So Im guessing I would need to install something like this: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboard-Accessory/ThunderboltEX-3/
How do I know if my board/my boards header supports Thunderbolt 3 vs the older versions? Does it not matter? Any info on Thunderbolt 3 in the PC world and for this motherboard specifically would be awesome.
Thanks!
