So, I'm in the midst of building a new pc and decided to wait for Coffee Lake.
This is primarily a gaming rig with maybe a couple programs running in the background (youtube, Chrome, nothing major)
i7-8700K - 6 core / 12 thread (I assume 12 due to HT)
i5-8600K - 6 core / 6 thread (no HT)
Will going from 6 threads to 12 benefit gaming in a meaningful way?
I'm thinking 8600K is best bet choice.
I decided 6 cores is going to be a good bet (or at least try to cover my butt bet) for best performance in AAA titles coming for the next 4-5 years.
Edit: Maybe to put a finer point on my question, for gaming does going up from 6 to 12 threads make much difference if both have 6 physical cores?
