So my computer overheated due to lack of cleaning, after it shut down once, I cleaned it with canned air to get the dust out but after that my computer would not display anything. What I did after that was to flash the cmos battery and move the graphics card onto a different PCIe port which made it work, after that every time I would turn on the computer, it would show as if I didn't have Windows installed, telling me to press any key after inserting a proper boot device. I couldn't even repair it from the recovery disk because it says that I am lacking certain drivers and need to insert them. I was at my wits end and decided to reinstall windows but it gives me the drivers problem as well. What do I do?

Sounds like by resetting the CMOS you reset the BIOS and it is not using the correct disk mode.

Go into BIOS and change the disk type from IDE (or w/e the default is) to something like SATA and reboot your PC.

Also make sure no cables on the hard drive to motherboard got loose when you were spraying out the case.

I did change the disk type to ahci from IDE and checked the connection but I still have the same problem. Is there anything else I can try?

Yea the hard drive shows up in BIOS and I'll try moving the SATA cable.

I would test the hard drive at this point. You may need to get a docking station or usb adaptor and run a diag tool. I personally use WD Lifeguard.

Then perform a full scan (not a quick). See if there is anything wrong with the drive sectors etc...

If it shows up in BIOS it means it can see a disk there but if the partition is corrupted it could be causing issues like you are seeing.

UEFI isn't an OS. It is a BIOS type. There is UEFI and Legacy BIOS. This is why in my first response I said to try changing to disk boot type...

UEFI is the newer BIOS type and should be used if you have it and if it's possible. It can provide better, advanced settings and support for firmware etc...
