Friends thought they'd be funny and long story short they threw a couple water balloons at me and some of it splashed on to my computer. It immediately shut off and wouldn't turn back on.
The only two things I know for sure:
1. It's either the motherboard or the psu because that's where the water hit it. Specifically the back of the motherboard where the ports are.
2. When I unplug it and plug it back in then hit the power the lights blink and the fans jut but nothing further happens. If I hit the power button again it won't replicate the effect. I have to replug it which I think is a failsafe but I feel like either one could be doing that.
Relevant specs:
ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
EVGA 500w Bronze
I don't have another system to test it on. Any best guesses would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
