So basically I have a VGA/DVI-D moniter and I need a new graphics card very badly. Ive been looking at the gtx 960 and the 1050 ti but am a little confused. So basically the 960 comes with a DL-DVI-I connection, which i have no clue if it will work with a regular DVI-D. Then, the slightly better 1050 ti comes with a DL-DVI-D connection, so I'm hoping itll work with regular DVI_D, but i dont know which is why i came to you. Any help would be great! thankyou

PS i do plan to get a new moniter soon to go with the graphics card but dont have the money right now.

Solution
Both GPUs will work fine using a standard DVI-D cable. You do not need an adapter for a DVI-D cable to plug in a DVI-I socket - the DVI-D cable IS compatible with DVI-I. You also will not need an adapter if your DVI-D cable is single link (SL) to plug in a dual link (DL) DL-DVI-D or DL-DVI-I - such cable IS also compatible with such sockets.

You only need an adapter if you have a DVI-I cable that you need to plug on a DVI-D socket (not the other way around).
You also need an adapter if you have a DL DVI cable that you need to plug on a SL DVI socket (not the other way around).
