Hello. A couple of days ago I bought a z906.
Awesome thing for it's relatively low cost. Problem is configuration.

I am wondering how can I abuse all of the 5 speakers that it has to their fullest potential. I've turned up the rear speakers' volume up to max and it's lackluster, unless I switch to 4.1 mode, then it's okay, but I lose the center speaker.

Also, I have a weird case with the drivers: I'm using a sound blaster recon 3di, it came with the motherboard, the mobo is Gigabyte X99 gaming 5 if it'll help out with figuring out the model a bit better, and the damn thing acts extremely wonky.

If I were to say that I want 5.1 surround, and I check out the optional speakers, the sound volume drops massively for no reason, I have to disable everything for it to run okayish.

I'm attaching a video, that will hopefully give a clearer view of what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r63PrZkQUk&feature=youtu.be

Now you'll see on the video the real weird part. You check the optional speakers out that you have them, and their volume disappears. It's curious since the system recorded the sound that it was supposed to make, but that sound didn't come out of the speakers for the center and rear speakers.

If anyone has any idea what I'm supposed to do it'd be very welcome.

The cable setup is using the 3x3.5 mm cables jacked into their corresponding colors on the subwoofer and on the back of the pc, the channel is input 1, the effect is set to Stereo.

I am looking forward to questions for further clarification, since I have no idea how this stuff works in general, and most of the info was a bit too confusing and not entirely pertaining to my case that I found.

I have the same sound card and speaker system as you. I don't enable Full range speakers though. Only center, sub, and rear really need to be enabled. Also if you're using analog inputs then just disable effects. Unless you really wanted to just have all the speaker channels play the same audio. So for games you don't need any "Effects" enabled if you want true 5.1, but windows will always only play in 2.1. Only games will play in 5.1 when no Effects are turned on.
