Problem: Sometimes when I boot (after PC being powered off and switched off at the power point for the day) the PC boots to a black screen - keyboard is not powered on (no LEDs) mouse doesn't work. Monitor is getting a signal but screen is just black. Press reset button, PC waits about 5 seconds, turns off completely, then turns back on after fans stop spinning down. Once it boots back up everything works again, can game fine, no crashing or black/blue screens anywhere. Might be worth mentioning that I recently upgraded from W8.1 to W10.

Is there anything in particular that might cause this intermittent issue?

Solution
run memtest overnight from usb stick. if the memory fine may be bad part in the power supply or mb when it cold. try running hardware info 64 bit set it to sensor and logging check your temps and voltages.
make sure the pc mb has newest bios as it may be a bios bug. if the pc has one of the newer intel cpu chips wiht the ipgpu. check your primany display settings and muilt monitor settings. if the first is set to auto the mb may be posting to onboard video and not to the gpu.
