Will my pc be able to handle the gtx 1060 3gb?

I've recently been thinking of upgrading my graphics card and i have a spare £220 laying around .

I have a asus a88xm-plus motherboard, corsair vs 450 power supply, amd a8 6600k processor with 8gb RAM ddr3.

My current graphics card is the gt 720 and its getting kind of old and i was wondering if i can run the gtx 1060 3gb on my specs , Pls help

If you don't mind your A8 cpu will bottleneck the gtx 1060, and make sure the MB has newer bios, and you are fine. Otherwise may consider upgrade the whole PC, you know you need more budget for that, but you can always buy the gpu first, then buy the cpu/MB/RAM later.

Thank you , i was going to save up for an intel processor , i was thinking just to get an i3 but i dont know if it would be worth spending more money and getting an i5 . Btw sorry for downvoting your comment ,i missclicked and i dont know how to change it back xD

If you don't mind amd or intel cpu, may consider amd Ryzen 5 too, like ryzen 5 1500x. More info https://www.techspot.com/review/1360-amd-ryzen-5-1600x-1500x-gaming/ If you will use the PC for games, you are better to find the reviews for the games you played most time, from there you will know which cpu you want to buy.

And don't worry about the voting ( at least for me) as long as you got what you want to get the answers.

If it were me, I wouldn't 'upgrade' to anything less than an i5 or Ryzen 5 1400, depending on if you like Intel or AMD. A dual core Intel with hyperthreading, or a Ryzen 3, are just too close to entry level which is not a big enough jump to be worth it in my opinion.

For now, I'd probably pair that A8 you have with a 1050 Ti, if you're planning to stick with entry level CPUs. If you do decide to get an i5 or Ryzen 5, then you'll want the 1060.

edit: The GT 720 is not a gaming card, not even a budget gaming card. You'd probably do better to use your onboard graphics. So any gaming card you get is going to blow your mind with the improvement.

Thank you for the help . I ordered my graphics card yesterday and i think i am either going to go with either the amd ryzen 1500x or the i3 7350k . They seem to run games quite similarly . Thanks again

i'm kind of on a budget and i've ordered the gtx 1060 already , i was thinking to just get an i3 or a amd 1500x as they seem to work pretty well fps wise and are relatively cheap . i dont really play any massive games , i only really play gta, cod , battlefield and csgo .

from what i read up if i get an i5 processor or something on those lines i would also have to change RAM from ddr3 to ddr4 as the ddr3 may damage the i5 processor , i dont know if this is true though. thanks for the suggestion though m9 , i will see
