Hello all,
First of all - I am new here, so please go easy on me. If you need any more information than what I have provided, please feel free to ask - I will be happy to provide additional information.
Having said that, I got all the components of a new build yesterday and started to build. This isn't my first build, however, it is something that I am doing after a long time (almost 10 years or so). I ended up with the following components:
CPU: AMD AM4 Ryzen 1700. It comes with its own cooler.
MoBo: ASRock Fatal1Ty X370 Gaming X
RAM: G.SKILL Flare X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) AMD X370 / B350 / A320 Memory (Desktop Memory) Model F4-2133C15Q-32GFX
SDD: WD Black 256GB Performance SSD - M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive - WDS256G1X0C
PSU: Rosewill Glacier Series 850W Modular Gaming Power Supply with Silent Aero-Diversion Fan, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single +12V Rail, Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready, SLI & Crossfire Ready - Glacier-850M
Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GT 1030 DirectX 12 GT 1030 AERO ITX 2G OC 2GB 64-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 (uses x4) HDCP Ready ATX Video Card
I put in the CPU/Cooler as instructed on the MoBo, got the SDD in, put in the RAM and the Graphics Card. Once done with those, I connected the CPU ATX12V connector and the 24-pin ATX Power Connector and turned on power to the PSU. At that point, I see some red lights on the MoBo (I am guessing those are the fancy LED lights, but no sound or no green lights). I also don't see the CPU fan spinning or even the chasis fan spinning (I retried by putting everything in the case and all the case cables attached to the mobo). Nothing. I will be trying out after removing each of the memory units and installing them individually to see if that works or not - but a simple question right now - is the MoBo DOA?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dhaval
