Hello! I have had my computer for 3-4 years now. (Cyber Power Pc)
Although because I wanted much better performance for higher end games, I upgraded it, a lot.
I have replaced nearly everything in it but the case it came with and the hard drive.

Current specs:
Intel i7 6th gen
Gtx 970
Msi z97 gaming motherboard
16 gb of ram
And a 1tb hard drive
Windows 7 prem

Just don't understand why it doesn't run games as expected. Frame rates are fine in games but when it comes to DEMANDING games to run like Battlefield 4, or BattleGrounds. It's not necessarily the frame rate that's poor, it's the rendering things/looking in different directions quickly, very choppy. The loading times. Not only in games but outside gaming in general seem EXTENSIVE. It takes a while to start up and to open programs/files just browsing through desktop.

Perhaps an ssd?

I was at my friend's house and his computer runs battlegrounds smoother than I can at higher graphics settings, and he's only got an intel i5 core with gtx 1050.

I am simply confused as to whether it's a system problem or I just might need an ssd. Because it feels a little to slow for the hardware specs it has.

Please help and THANK YOU, KINDLY.

Yes thats the HWiNFO program he meant...just set it to data log all your temps and run a game.

You do need better case cooling, dont forget the motherboard has power circuits and chips that need at least some airflow...you could certainly have CPU or GPU throttling issues due to poor case cooling.
Your problem does not appear to be related to the HD. And SSD won't help the problems you describe. The 970 should be 75% faster than the 1050.

Using HWiNFO as a monitoring tool, what are CPU temps running RoG Real Bench ?
What are GPU Temps running Furmark ?
How many case fans, what size and rpm ?
Which model card ?
Which Model PSU ?

Did you reinstall Windows after upgrading MoBo ?
Did you remove and replace other hardware drivers ?
Any warnngs or errors in Windows System Logs (See Event Viewer) ?

You didn't say what monitor you have...many times people over look the obvious...a 970 wont drive a 1440 or larger monitor at high frame rates with the settings turned up...the 970 is barely adequate @ 1080 for todays games.

You also didn't mention how much memory the 970 has...less than 3gig will have a significant impact of frame rate since the GPU will have to hit that slow HHD for more data while gaming...hence the choppy and slow graphics.

Is this the HWiNFO download you were mentioning?
http://download.cnet.com/HWiNFO64/3000-2094_4-75532466.html

Also, this is the exact graphics card I have.

Both my case fans have slowed to a stop basically. Only have the PSU fan and the processor fan on.
On the back of my power supply it says, ActivePFC. I am almost positive it is between 750-850 watts.
Haven't seen any windows system log errors.
After I installed my new motherboard I believe I wiped my hard drive and reinstalled windows and motherboard drivers and gpu drivers.

ALSO, just realized I only have about 87 gb free of 1tb.

I also have a Gateway monitor, its 1080 resolution.

Thank you.
