Hello,I was thinking to upgrade the old pc by buying a new gpu and I don't know if the 1050 2gb can fit in the 775 socket motherboard,my old cpu is a Intel core duo e7600 and my old gpu is a GeForce gtx 8800 gt,if you have in your mind a gpu that can match with the mobo say it (may help me)

Thanks

Hey,

Your Gtx8800gt runs on the PCIE bus, thus a 1050 would be compatible as well. Your platform (socket 775) is quite outdated and your dual core would bottleneck the Gtx1050. I would advise against upgrading the GPU as it will not be a balanced system. It's best to save up an build a new machine.

Hope this helps!

My advice is to buy a used, therefore inexpensive, videocard. An older card will be more compatible and it won't be overpowered for your older system. I'm thinking an HD 7750 or similar. Something like that will be a good match for the kind of games your CPU can handle. If you want an Nvidia card, a GT 730 DDR5 or GT 1030 would be about the most I'd go for.

You will NOT be playing games like GTA V or PUBG on this system, just to be clear.
