If you wait for coffee lake (next intel chip) you can get an i3 with 4 cores / 4 threads.

A dual core processor won't really cut it for most modern games, especially if you are using the cpu for any other background processes.

And you would be much happier with a Geforce 1050 Ti than a 1030.

What is your budget?
I would strongly consider getting a 1050ti instead of a 1030. You can get a 1050ti for around $150 (not sure about Canada) and it is a big improvement over the 1030.
I would also get 2x4gb sticks of RAM instead of 1x8gb. Your board selected runs dual channel. You need 2 sticks to activate dual channel. Ram can be kinda finicky, you should always run even number of RAM on a dual channel board or you can have problems.
