So currently there are 2 computers in my apartment room and to save data we have one on ethernet. To make this simple the computer with ethernet is A and the wireless one is B. If A makes a hotspot and B connects to A, will B use internet data? And if not is B going to have a slower connection?

Solution
You have 1000 gb of internet data, it does not matter if you are using ethernet, wifi, powerline, moca or any single other way to get connection from at&t modem to your computer because it is still going to pull from the same pool of data.

1. If B connects to A, which connects to the internet..... and B is consuming data, then yes, B is using data?
2. B would likely have a slower connection in that setup, as A would (likely) be prioritized over B, and there's more overhead.

Why wouldn't you either
A. Connect both via ethernet (using a switch if required)
OR
B. Connect B to wifi directly?

B is currently on wifi and A is currently on ethernet. Unfortunately At&t is shit and only allow up to 1000 gb of data and since my friend games and streams a lot we're quickly using it up. So I'm trying to save data which is why I was wondering why if B connected to A's hotspot, we would save data.

Two computers, doing the same thing they've always done; will consume the same amount of data they've always done.
In this instance, from a single connection*.

*I assume the providers of the Wifi and ethernet are different in this situation? If not - ie both the ethernet cable and the wifi are coming from the same modem, there would be zero difference in data useage, and a little more inconvenience for B as they're being routed through A.
