So my friend has an older pc that he has been using to play some lower spec titles but he wants to play Player Unknown's Battlegrounds which I know he can't run with his current setup he has a Socket AM3 Motherboard a socket that I am not familiar with so does anyone know if there is an AM3 Processor that will run PUBG or will we have to replace the motherboard He's on a pretty tight budget

Even a "tight" budget (depending how tight) would likely be better spent on a new platform.
PUGB is pretty CPU intensive, and older chips are going to struggle.

What are the full specs of his system currently? And what would the budget be for any upgrade?

He has an Athlon II X3 655 with the 4th Core Unlocked
8gb of DDR3
RX 460
He has a budget of about $125
