Hi everyone, i'm using an older Mushkin PSU in a build and it has a mystery wire. I seem to remember there being an eyelet and you would attach it to one of the motherboard screws as a ground... Am I right in this, and is it necessary to attach it? I cut the eyelet off a long time ago, I don't remember why but I think it was stuck to the chassis it was in...

Thanks!

Solution
Not if in a metal case. Take it off or insulate the end so it doesn't short something on MB. Those were used only with MBs mounted on plastic standoffs.

Thank you so much! I can vaguely remember now that that's why I cut it in the first place, that motherboards used to have a spot for it.
