I'm building a new PC strictly for gaming. It's a budget build, hence I've narrowed my options down to the following:

1. Zotac 1050Ti 4GB OC + Ryzen 5 1600
2. Zotac 1060 3Gb + Ryzen 3 1200

Would the 1600 be better, considering the 6 cores, for future-proofing? Or should I just save money and get the better gpu i.e 1060?

Solution
The R5-1600 should last for games coming out in 2018-2019; can't say for sure the lesser R3-based rigs will still be up to snuff then, although they are great value/bargain machines for most of today's games...

If you're using programs or streaming example: OBS, Photoshop, Premiere, Sony Vegas go for ryzen 1600, but if you're only gaming go for ryzen 1200.
If you do more than gaming Go for the 1050ti but with 2 cooler's because you can OC it in the future. And if you're only gaming go for that 2. build.

Hello mate I am building nearly the same build as you would like to know how did it hold up in terms of newer games specially Overwatch..
Is the Ryzen 5 1400 with 1050ti better than Ryzen 3 1200 with 1060
