Solution madmatt30 Aug 23, 2017 coming from a 970 which is still a good mid range card Id say it has to be at least a 1080 or its not a significant enough upgrade. Your cpu is fine,thats not an issue at all.

blockhead78 Distinguished Apr 7, 2011 1,186 0 19,960 Aug 23, 2017 #4 the resolution you play at will have some impact I upgraded to the 1080ti and at 1080p my 4790K was bottlenecking just a little bit with the odd frame drop and stutter (and that was overclocked to 4.6ghz). Switched to a 1440p monitor and it's been butter smooth ever since. Upvote 0 Downvote
